また、青年交流だけではなく、ロストロポーヴィッチ基金奨学生とチャイコフスキー記念国立音楽院の日本人留学生による合同コンサートや、６年にわたる修復工事を終えたばかりのボリショイ劇場での「くるみ割り人形」の観劇、ソルトレイク冬季五輪の金メダリスト、アレクセイ・ヤグディン氏＝画像右端＝によるスケート教室など、ロシアの素晴らしい文化に触れる機会を得た震災遺児らの表情は、一日一日と日を重ねるごとに明るくなっていきました。

The Japanese students also enjoyed Russian arts, such as a joint concert by scholarship
students of the Rostropovich Foundation and Japanese students studying at the Moscow
Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and “The Nutcracker” ballet at the Bolshoi Theatre, which
had just completed a six year-long restoration. The visitors also participated in a
skating workshop given by Alexei Yagudin, a former Russian figure skater and gold medalist
in the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. The students obviously enjoyed their visit,
growing more cheerful each day.
