I have nothing but admiration for people who like to dress up and carry around theater glasses and read the arts section of the New York Times. But I’m more like Bird, who’d never seen a Broadway play before the one with his name on it.
It’s hard to picture Larry sitting around discussing "Les Miserables," much less thinking the small stage is the ultimate proving ground. But he and Magic approved the Magic/Bird script and promoted the project. It would have been fitting if it became one of the longest-running plays on Broadway.
