映像と活字媒体の違い

　一方、新聞や週刊誌などの活字媒体は、多くの報道内容から読みたいものだけを選択して読むことができる。そこがテレビやラジオと違うところだ。ひとくくりにすれば同じマスメディアであっても、映像や音で放送するものと活字媒体では時間的な制約も異なる。新聞や週刊誌は、いつでも読めるが電波媒体はそうはいかない。最近は録画機能が発達してきたから時間的な制約がなくなりつつある。また移動しながら受信できる携帯型の機器も発展してきたから報道の形態も変わりつつあるが・・・。
　一番の違いは報道の早さだ。現場からの中継であればリアルタイムで放送することができる。一方、活字媒体は、記者が取材して文章を書き、それを印刷するというプロセスを踏まなければならないから、時間がかかる。どんなに早くても半日ほど遅れる。つづく
