海外大河ドラマのDVD
“The Pillars of the Earth”
『大聖堂』
を借りてきました。
監督は、Ridley Scottです。
Ken Follettによる原作は
長編小説なので
はしょってはありますが
なかなかおもしろいです。
ただ、
歴史的事実に基づいたところが
たくさんあるので
DVDだけだと
少し
わかりにくいかもしれません。
第１巻は「暗黒時代」です。
物語の始まりは
船の難破です。
難破した船には
イングランド王ヘンリー１世の世継ぎウィリアムが乗っていましたが、
彼はこの事故で亡くなります。
物語では
この事故からしてすでに陰謀の臭いが…
*歴史的事実の部分は色を変えてみました。
Henry's only legitimate son and heir, William drowned in 1120.
Returning from Normandy to England aboard the White Ship,
William lost his life when the inebriated pilot steered the vessel onto a rock,
where it quickly filled with water.
ヘンリー王の甥であるスティーブンは
王の娘モード（マティルダの愛称）を世継ぎとすることを誓いますが
ヘンリー王が亡くなると（毒殺の影が…またまた陰謀が渦巻いてます）
教会を味方につけて
イングランド王になってしまいます。
In 1126, Stephen（スティーブン）, the grandson of William the Conqueror（ウィリアム征服王）,
had sworn along with many other barons to accept Henry's daughter Matilda（愛称はMaude／モード）
as heir to the throne.
In 1128, Matilda(Maude) married Geoffrey Plantagenet, Count of Anjou.
In 1133, Maude had a baby boy(later became HenryⅡ).
In 1135, Henry died of food poisoning.
Stephen usurped（奪う） the throne.
実は、Stephenの弟はウィンチェスター司教で
その弟がカンタベリー大司教を説得したのでした。
でも、モードも黙ってはいません。
そこは事実もドラマも同じです。
そういう時代背景に
大聖堂建築に夢を描くトム・ビルダーたちがからんで
愛と憎しみと陰謀の交錯する
ややこしドラマが始まるのでした。
歴史上この時代を「暗黒時代」と言います。
大聖堂…
この時代は
ロマネスク建築からゴシック建築へと移行するときです。
ロマネスク建築のカンタベリー大聖堂ですが
内装はゴシック建築の影響を受けているそうです。

きれいですねえ

かわいいアニメＤＶＤ

図書館で調べたところ、どうやらペンギンは南極からきたようです。
そこで、少年はペンギンを南極へ連れて行こうと計画を立てます。

３０分もないアニメで、ナレーションのみ。
でも、すごくいいお話です。

RAYです。
前回のURGEの練習の時に
RAINBOWのLost In Hollywoodの話をしていました。
よ～つべでチェックしてみましたが
本物RAINBOWの映像は、ひとつも無いですね。
ニセモノ（コピバン）ばかりで。。。。
いちばん近い、ボーカルだけ本物グラハムボネットの
Alcatrazzはありましたが。
このイングヴェイのギターはカッコいいですけど
グラハムボネットのRAINBOWの在籍期間が短かった
ということなんですかね～？
わたしゃ～、RAINBOW入門がグラハム時代からで
結構好きなんで、なんとなく残念な感じで。
